Warsia Khusbu emerges unbeaten champion

South Point School and College student Warsia Khusbu emerged unbeaten champion in the girls’ under-9 group of girls’ section of the Asian Online Schools Chess championships held today at the online chess platform Tornelo. BSS
Khusbu earned eight points out of nine games to clinch the title.
After the end of the ninth round, Khusbu and Shadanpour Sana of Iran both earned eight points each. Inter direct encounter of tie-breaking system, Khusbu became champion because she beat Sana in fifth round.
Meanwhile the seventh, eighth and ninth round games were held today, Khusbu beat Krupha S Ukkali of India in seventh round, Khusbu split point with Myagmar Tselmeg of Mongolia in eighth round and Khusbu split point with Sreekarthika Velmurugan of India in the ninth round.
Neelava Choudhury finished tenth in the girl’s under-11 group with six points.
The other places are in girls under-13 group: 29th- Ishrat Jahan Diba, points-5, 37th-Wadifa Ahmed, points- 4.5, 43rd-Aliza Nusaiba Islam points-4, 69th-Fatiha Eyenoon Diya, point-1 and 70th-Syeda Nushaiba Mahmud, points-1.
In the girl’s under-15 group, 37th-Shoptorshi Rahman, points-4, 38th-Nusrat Jahan Alo, points-4 and 43rd-Omnia Binte Yusuf Lubaba, points-3.5.
In girls’ Under-17 group, 51st- Nawrin Fatema Toa, points-3 and 52nd-Women’s FIDE Master Noshin Anjum, points 3 (6 games).
In the girl’s under-7 group, 36th-Arisa Hossain Tuba points-3 and in the girl’s under-9 group 59th-Zunairah Rahman, points-3. A total of 361 girls from 24 countries in Asia are participating in the girl’s section in different age categories.
